GETFSENT(3) UNIX Programmer's Manual GETFSENT(3) NAME getfsent, getfsspec, getfsfile, getfstype, setfsent, endfsent - get file system descriptor file entry SYNOPSIS #include struct fstab *getfsent() struct fstab *getfsspec(spec) char *spec; struct fstab *getfsfile(file) char *file; struct fstab *getfstype(type) char *type; int setfsent() int endfsent() DESCRIPTION _G_e_t_f_s_e_n_t, _g_e_t_f_s_s_p_e_c, _g_e_t_f_s_t_y_p_e, and _g_e_t_f_s_f_i_l_e each return a pointer to an object with the following structure containing the broken-out fields of a line in the file system descrip- tion file, . struct fstab { char *fs_spec; char *fs_file; char *fs_type; int fs_freq; int fs_passno; }; The fields have meanings described in _f_s_t_a_b(5). _G_e_t_f_s_e_n_t reads the next line of the file, opening the file if necessary. _S_e_t_f_s_e_n_t opens and rewinds the file. _E_n_d_f_s_e_n_t closes the file. _G_e_t_f_s_s_p_e_c and _g_e_t_f_s_f_i_l_e sequentially search from the begin- ning of the file until a matching special file name or file system file name is found, or until EOF is encountered. _G_e_t_f_s_t_y_p_e does likewise, matching on the file system type field.
