NAME
     whereis - locate programs

SYNOPSIS
     whereis program ...

DESCRIPTION
     The _w_h_e_r_e_i_s utility checks the standard binary directories
     for the specified programs, printing out the paths of any it
     finds.

     The path searched is the string returned by the _s_y_s_c_t_l(8)
     utility for the ``user.cs_path'' string.

     The historic flags and arguments for the _w_h_e_r_e_i_s utility are
     no longer available in this version.

HISTORY
